A Testament to God’s Faithfulness

How He Provided in Our Time of Need
There are moments in ministry when we are reminded in the most powerful ways that God is our provider. This is one of those moments.
Dawson Creek Young Life has been blessed with an incredible answer to prayer!
We are overjoyed to acknowledge the financial support of Electoral “Area D” in the Peace River Regional District. The PRRD stepped in with financial support at a critical time. Their generosity not only relieved a significant deficit from our past fiscal year but also secured additional funding for the next two years.
This is nothing short of God’s provision at work!
The Challenge We Faced
Back in January, we sent out a newsletter sharing our urgent financial needs. The challenge wasn’t that we had failed to meet our fundraising goals – in fact, we had! The real issue was the rapid growth of our ministry. What started as gatherings of 10-15 teenagers had grown into weekly events with 50+ students coming through our doors. While this was a tremendous blessing, the increase in attendance meant our operating costs rose significantly.
As you can imagine, the financial strain was concerning. It’s easy in moments like these to feel overwhelmed, but God’s Word reminds us, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” (Philippians 4:6).
We took that to heart, even as worry crept in. With faith, we submitted a grant application to the PRRD, unsure of the outcome but believing that God would provide.
The Answer to Prayer
And He did – abundantly!
While we didn’t receive the full amount we initially applied for, God moved in the hearts of the Peace River Regional District representatives. Through the generosity of Area D and Leonard Hiebert, our entire deficit was cleared, and they committed to an additional fixed financial contribution over the next two years.
In total, we received an $80,000.00 blessing!
This wasn’t just financial relief; it was a tangible reminder of God’s faithfulness. He didn’t just meet our needs – He exceeded them. “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19).
A Ministry Sustained for the Future
This generous provision means Young Life Dawson Creek can continue creating a space where teenagers feel welcomed, loved and safe in an encouraging environment – a safe space. It means we can keep reaching out to students who may never have encountered the Gospel otherwise. It means the doors stay open, the games go on, the music keeps playing, and most importantly, young lives keep being transformed.
We are so grateful to the Peace River Regional District, to everyone who prayed for us, and to every supporter who walks alongside this ministry.
If this story encourages you, we ask that you continue praying for Young Life Dawson Creek – that more hearts would be reached, more young lives changed, and that we would always trust in God’s faithful provision.
To God be the glory!
Thank you for being part of this journey.
